You all must have heard Maj Gen Satbir' appeal on the eve of New Year.

Well . . . . It must be minus 50 in Siachen.
It must be raining in the North East.
It must be snowing in Tawang with the knife-like bone-chilling wind howling in the dark.
A few good men must be getting ready to march all night to lay a cordon somewhere in Kashmir to flush out terrorists.
Some of them may not live to see Jan 2016 progress further.
Such is life of your soldiers !

As we start new year please do raise the first toast to the unknown soldier.
It is he who makes our celebration possible.

I wish you all a very happy new year ahead.
