1793 - King Louis XVI was tried by the French Convention, found guilty of treason and sentenced to the guillotine.

1904 - Thomas A. Edison was issued a patent for an" Electrical Automobile" designed with a driving motor that may be conveniently and effectively utilised for the purpose of charging the batteries.

1907 - The first film reviews appeared in "Variety" magazine.

1915  A U.S. patent was issued to George Claude of Paris titled a “System of Illuminating by Luminescent Tubes”. This led to the neon sign.

1915 - More than 20 people were killed when German zeppelins bombed England for the first time.
