Operation Kaveri
Under 'Operation Kaveri', the Indian Air Force has undertaken an impossible mission to safely rescue 121 Indians from Sudan.
This is engulfed in civil war, i.e. we called here as sudan civil war 2023. Indian Air Force's C-130J Super Hercules aircraft has achieved this feat at Wadi Saidon Airport on Thursday midnight.
In many ways, this operation has been carried out to be engraved in golden letters in the history of Indian Air Force.
Sudan War
Sudan is currently reeling from internal strife. The life of the common people there has been turned upside down in the ongoing conflict between the government and the rebels. Many Indians are trapped in this. India has undertaken Operation Cauvery to bring these Indians home safely. An Indian Air Force plane on its way to pick up 121 Indians stranded at Wadi Said airport on Thursday night faced many obstacles. The biggest problem was the runway. The runway here at Wadi Said was unpaved and the surface was very poor. There were no navigational approach aids or refueling facilities at the airstrip. Most importantly, there were no landing lights on the runway. These landing lights show the exact location of the runway to the pilot.
Indian Air Force Pilot Made it Possible
To add to all this, there was firing on the Turkish aircraft ahead of the Indian aircraft. It was almost impossible to land such a large plane at night in the rain of bullets and in the dark without any lights and take off again with the trapped people. But which Indian soldiers will give up!! Indian Air Force pilots have made the impossible possible by carrying night vision cameras in the dark of night without any navigation system. Indian Air Force pilots landed such a large aircraft on a small runway with only a night vision camera on their eyes. It was decided not to ground the aircraft for any emergency while the firing was going on from both sides. The engines of the plane were kept running for about 2:30 hours until the rescue operation was completed.
Garuda Commandos
As soon as the plane landed on the runway, the Garuda commandos of the Indian Air Force took care of the safety of the passengers with sophisticated weaponry. Garuda commandos are world renowned for retaliating any attack. An Indian Air Force C-130J Super Hercules took off with all 121 passengers on board safely. During the flight, the Indian Air Force pilots made it possible only with the help of night vision cameras. Throughout this performance, the Indian Army team was kept ready to face any emergency by considering all possibilities.
Salute to Indian Army, Navy, Air Force
My strong salute to these anonymous heroes who put their lives in danger to bring the Indians who are in trouble anywhere in the world safely home. A big salute to the Indian Army, Air Force and Navy and a big salute to the Government of India for planning such an operation behind the scenes using its diplomatic and international weight behind the scenes to bring the Indians safe by any means necessary.
