Chennai had rain today, intermittently heavy, upsetting the relief efforts. But, late evening, the rain stopped, bringing relief to people. Though water has drained out in many areas,there is still waterlogging,power shutdown,lack of essential supplies like milk etc., in a few areas.Thousands of people are clamouring for food,clothing,shelter and other essentials.The State Govt., is doing its best,ably supported by the three services,NGOs,corporates,volun
Train services are increasing and most of the trains are expected to run from tomorrow. Limited air services have started.Relief supplies are pouring into Chennai.For garbage clearance,a large number of cleaners have been brought from different districts of TN and the work is going on on a war footing.But,the affected people are losing patience and

The next major problem facing Chennai is to ensure that there is no epidemic,arising out of unhygienic surroundings,garbage pile-up etc.
