"They say once a soldier, always a soldier. Discipline is their defining attribute. Yet see how they are conducting themselves. If they continue like this, like how ordinary people or labour unions do, I can only say they will end up damaging the stature of the armed forces," (Koshiari)
Shri Koshiariji, it is this kind of absurd pleadings that have enabled babus and politicians to hit us below the belt for the last 42 years (since 1973, 3 CPC). I thought as an author of the Parliamentary Commission you should have known more about the injustices heaped on Defence Forces than any other politician. You should have been advising Jetley more positively than stinking the atmosphere along with him. Such statements coming from you at this juncture reek as a typical turn-coat politician. Contemplate a little to realize that can Veterans afford to wait another decade before PM, FM, DM and babus jointly decide the fate of dwindling fraternity. Veterans are not union leaders. They are those ghayal persons who have suffered babugiri and tanashahi for too long to indulge in bargaining, when all that they are asking is their legitimate dues recommended by you and supported by apex court and two parliaments.
Listen to this carefully Shri Koshiariji: the stature of Defence Forces will not be damaged by Veterans rightful demand; but the morale will be shattered if this stalemate continues any longer.
PS.
Will someone reading this mail please send it to Shri Koshiariji for his introspection.
