शहीद जवान योगेश भदाणे यांना मानवंदना

शनिवारी (ता. 13) जम्मू-काश्‍मीर येथे पाकिस्तान सैन्याने केलेल्या गोळीबारीमध्ये बांदीपुरा येथे सीमेचे रक्षण करत असताना योगेश मुरलीधर भदाणे यांना वीरमरण आले. आज (ता. 15) दुपारी 4 वाजता शहीद योगेश भदाणे यांचे पार्थिक भारतीय वायुसेनेच्या खास विमानाने (केए 2764) ओझर विमानतळ येथे दाखल झाले.

या वेळी एअर ऑफिसर कमांडर समीर बोराडे (11 बेस रिपेअर डेपो), ग्रुप कॅप्टन जे. मॅथ्यू, विंग कमांडर सुरेंद्रर दुबे, आर्टिलरीचे मेजर मोहित खत्री, जिल्हधिकारी बी. राधाकृष्णन, जिल्हा पोलिस अधीक्षक संजय दराडे, आमदार अनिल कदम, जिल्हा सैनिककल्याण अधिकारी ज्ञानदेव गुंजाळ, किसन सातपुते, आदींनी शहीद योगेश भदाणे यांना मानवंदना वाहिली. भारतीय वायुसेना आणि स्थलसेनेचे जवान उपस्थित होते.
साडेचार वाजेच्या सुमारास खास हेलिकॉप्टरने त्यांचे पार्थिक मूळ गाव खलाणे (जि. धुळे) या ठिकाणी नेण्यात आले.

या वेळी शहीद जवान योगेश भदाणे यांच्या पत्नी पूनम भदाणे देखील त्यांच्या पार्थिवाबरोबर होत्या. 2008 मध्ये योगेश हे भारतीय सैन्यात दाखल झाले होते. आठ महिन्यांपूर्वीच त्यांचा विवाह झाला होता.

अहमदनगरच्या के. के. रेंजमध्ये युद्धाचा थरार; दोन तास चालला लष्कराचा सराव

अहमदनगर : नगर जवळील के. के. रेंज या लष्काराच्या युद्ध सरावाच्या भूमीवर सोमवारी (दि. १५) निमंत्रित नगरकरांसह मित्र राष्ट्राच्या सैन्यांसमोर तब्बल दोन युद्ध सराव रंगला. लष्काराचे टेहळणी हेलीकॉप्टर, धुरांचे लोट उसळत शत्रूवर चाल करुन जाणारे अवाढव्य रणगाडे, कानठळ्या बसवणा-या तोफांचा मारा, गोळीबार असा हा युद्ध भूमीवरचा सारा थरार के. के. रेंज येथे लष्कराच्या प्रात्यक्षिकांमध्ये पहायला मिळाला. मेजर जनरल नीरज कपूर, ब्रिगेडियर व्ही़ व्ही़ सुब्रमन्यम यांच्या मार्गदर्शनाखाली आर्मड कॉर्प्स सेंटर व स्कूल, मॅकेनाइज्ड इन्फंट्री रेजिमेंट सेंटर यांच्या वतीने नगरजवळील लष्कराच्या के. के. रेज या युद्ध सराव भूमीवर भारताच्या मित्र राष्ट्रांचे सैन्य आणि देशभरातील निमंत्रितांसमोर युद्ध प्रात्यक्षिकांचा थरार रंगला. लष्कराच्या २ तासाच्या प्रात्यक्षिकाने अंगावर शहारे आणणारा युद्ध भूमीचा रोमांच पाहून भारताच्या मित्र राष्ट्राचे सैन्य आणि देशभरातील निमंत्रित थक्क झाले. प्रारंभी रणगाड्यांमधून आगीचे लोळ सोडत शत्रूच्या काही क्षणात भस्मसात करणा-या तोफांचा मारा करण्यात आला. कानठळ्या बसविणा-या तोफा रणगाड्यांमधून आगीचा लोळ ओकत बाहेर पडताच उपस्थितांचा थरकाप उडाला. लष्करी प्रात्यक्षिकात रणगाडे मुख्य आरक्षण होते.
अर्जुन, भीष्म, अजय, टी-९०, टी-७२, बीएमपी-२ या अत्याधुनिक तंत्रप्रणाली असणारे रणगाडे सर्वांचे आकर्षण ठरले. अर्जुन, भीष्म, अजय, टी-९० या संगणकप्रणालीने युक्त असणा-या रणगाड्यांमध्ये अतिउच्च धूर निर्माण करण्याची क्षमता आहे. त्यामुळे धोक्याच्या परिस्थितीत शत्रूला हुलकावणी देऊन पुन्हा तीव्र हल्ला चढविण्याचे सामर्थ्य या रणगाड्यांमध्ये आहे. या रणगाड्यांमध्ये रात्रीची परिस्थिती दिवसासारखी स्पष्टपणे दिसू शकेल, असे तंत्रज्ञान वापरण्यात आले आहे.
या रणगाड्यांमध्ये गन, अणु युद्धात शत्रूचा मारा निष्प्रभ करण्याची क्षमता आहे. जवानांना वाहून नेण्यासाठी हे रणगाडे उपयुक्त ठरतात. तब्बल दोन तास रणगाड्यांमधून तोफांचा मारा, गोळीबार, हेलीकॉप्टर यांची प्रात्यक्षिके रंगली. या प्रात्यक्षिकांनंतर उपस्थितांना जवळून रणगाडे, अत्याधुनिक शस्त्रास्त्रे पाहण्याची संधी उपलब्ध करुन देण्यात आली.

Netanyahu calls PM Modi a revolutionary leader

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday called his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi "a revolutionary leader" who has revolutionised India.

"You are a revolutionary leader. You have revolutionised India and catapulting this state to the future. Your visit to Israel was groundbreaking as it was the first time an Indian leader visited," Netanyahu said during a joint press conference with Prime Minister Modi.

He said Jews in India have never witnessed antisemitism like in some other countries and that was the testament to India's great civilisation, tolerance and democracy.

Remembering the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack, Netanyahu said both India and Israel would fight terrorism together.

Earlier today, the two sides also signed nine Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) in various sectors to further strengthen the bilateral relations between the two countries.

Prime Minister Modi and Netanyahu also held delegation-level talks and discussed ways to further strengthen ties between the two sides.

Netanyahu, who is on a six-day visit to India, received a ceremonial reception at the Rashtrapati Bhawan on Monday.

Netanyahu will be visiting Agra, Gujarat and Mumbai and will be accompanied by the Indian Prime Minister on extensive portions of his visit.

UIDAI to introduce facial authentication for Aadhaar

The Unique Identification Authority of India ( UIDAI) on Monday decided to introduce facial authentication for Aadhaar for people facing issues with other forms of biometric verification like fingerprint and iris scanning.

"@UIDAI introduces yet another landmark technology for authentication - Face Authentication. #AadhaarFaceAuth will help all elderly or others facing issues with fingerprint authentication. Service to be launched by 1 July 2018", Ajay Bhushan Pandey, CEO of UIDAI tweeted.

The UIDAI said the new feature will be allowed only when combined with "one more authentication factor", like fingerprint, iris or OTP.

"This facility is going to help in inclusive authentication of those who are not able to biometrically authenticate due to their worn out fingerprints, old age or hard work conditions," UIDAI said.

The camera, said the Aadhaar authority, is now available across laptops and mobiles, which made face capture feasible without any additional hardware.

Last week, the UIDAI announced a new move to secure Aadhaar, in which a randomly-generated 16-digit temporary number can be shared instead of the biometric ID.
