The oil market is deceptively calm. Below the apparent tranquility lies an underappreciated transformation that has slowly reshaped the market over the last 25 years — because the arrival of China and India as big consumers hasn’t just given an enormous boost to demand, it’s also altered the market’s seasonality. And that matters a lot this year.
Until recently, global oil demand peaked every year with the arrival of the Northern Hemisphere’s winter. As temperatures dropped from October onward, heating oil and kerosene consumption spiked from the US to Germany to Japan. Hence, as recently as 2014, the fourth quarter still marked the annual high for crude demand and, typically, prices. Since then, the seasonality has flipped: Now, the third quarter sees higher demand and prices.
The shift means the market is now at its tightest from July to September, rather than October to December. While one-time events can still have an effect — the 2008 global financial crisis, for example, or the Covid-19 pandemic that started in early 2020 — looking over a long enough timescale reveals the change clearly. Because it happened incrementally over a quarter of a century, it often doesn’t get the attention it deserves.

To fully harness this potential, the DOD must make three critical changes: (1) create a separate budget which is not be tied to rigid requirements and line items for procuring, testing, fielding, and iterating commercial technologies at speed, (2) remove outdated and excessive security and classification barriers that currently exclude nontraditional vendors and favor only large defense contractors, and (3) build modern, digital communication channels that allow real-time collaboration between commercial innovators and military end users. Together, these steps would lay the foundation for a true commercial-first acquisition model capable of keeping the U.S. military on the leading edge of technological innovation.

Such a shift will take time, but there is precedent—the evolution of the U.S. space sector. For decades, NASA led a government-only model of space exploration and providing services for national security agencies. But over time, commercial companies like SpaceX, Maxar, and Planet Labs emerged and were given the opportunity—and funding—to demonstrate their value. Today, two parallel systems coexist, with the commercial sector proving to be not only cost-effective but often more agile and operationally capable. The DOD can take a similar path with unmanned systems, gradually integrating a commercial-first model alongside traditional acquisition and allowing results to speak for themselves.

The success of this approach in Ukraine lies in the dual-track systems that coexist alongside and complement one another. By embracing this shift, the department can not only unlock the full potential of U.S. innovation but also build a defense ecosystem that is better prepared for the demands of modern warfare. • Referral Validity: Now valid for 3 months. You can visit up to 3 specialists and have 6 consultations during this time.

• Senior Citizens (70+ years): No need for a referral for OPD visits or tests like CT, MRI, or PET scans at empanelled hospitals.

• Hospital Admission: Still needs a referral from your ECHS polyclinic.

• Special Tests (above ₹3,000): Need referral unless prescribed by a specialist at an empanelled hospital.

The Central Pay Commission (CPC) is a statutory body set up every ten years to review and recommend revisions in salaries, allowances, and pensions of central government employees—including the armed forces. For defence pensioners, each pay commission translates into better financial security, cost-of-living adjustments, and overdue arrears that can restore dignity in retirement.

The Union Cabinet approved the constitution of the 8th CPC on January 16, 2025, aiming to cover roughly 36.57 lakh central employees and 33.91 lakh pensioners, including defence personnel and their families (Source: StaffNews, https://www.staffnews.in/2025/03/approval-of-8th-central-pay-commission-for-benefit.html). Puja, path is fine, but the fight on the ground against the deadly enemy must continue, but it seems to be a hopeless one, with lies and deceit flying fast and furious. Once again, it seems we are fighting an unequal battle on unequal plains, on unequal terms, like the one in 1962, against the Chinks :

>      we had no knowledge of the enemy;

>      we had no knowledge of the ground the enemy was operating on;

>       we had no arms & ammunition, required for the mountains;

>       we had no plants, vehicles & equipment which could function at (-) 40 deg C; cooling 

          water in all engines froze & the engines burst;

>       we had no tents to withstand (-) 40 deg C temperature;

>       we had no extreme cold clothing which could keep our soldiers warm;

>       we had no snow boots and snow gloves to prevent Frost Bite;

>       we had no snow goggles to prevent snow blindness;

>       we had no pressure cookers for the food to cook at high altitude, where the air  

          pressure is very low and the water boiled at 80 deg C;

>       from our side, it was a steep climb 9,000 ft over goat tracks, allowing only lightly 

          armed soldiers to reach the top of the Tibetian Plateau, the battlefield, whereas, the 

          Chinks were operating on the plain desert land, in vehicles; all our plant &         

          equipment had to be air-supplied on an advanced landing ground, which was 

          soon overrun by the Chinks, & supplies had to be airdropped, much of which 

          was captured by the Chinks

>       ultimately, there were 20 Chinks to just one of us, a situation where we either 

          fought till the last man, last bullet or escaped through the same. Siachin, which is  

          much in the news nowadays; in the process, many lost their life and frostbitten 

          limbs;

>       many were captured after being surrounded 1 to 20; when they were finally          

          released after sustained brainwashing efforts by the Chinks, if they thought that they 

          had obtained freedom and would be back to soldiering, were in for a rude shock;

>        the returning POWs were held in their own Country, in interrogation camps for 

          screening, to determine if they had been affected psychologically by brainwashing by 

          the Chinks and many were given discharge without benefits, if not due.

Does all of the above ring a familiar note in the present scenario?

An extreme danger to the entire civilizations of the world is being converted into an opportunity by the bloodhounds, in a systematic manner by letting people suffer and die, brainwashing the entire majority community with a planned dose of Hinduism and then blurring its lines with the Theology of Hindu Rashtra by clever but false subterfuges like the bogey of Islam. 

I was utterly surprised today while speaking to my nearly 90 yrs old aunt, who has been vehemently anti-Modi from the beginning, rattling out the Islamophobic lines of the Parivar's IT Army. She was not quoting them, but NDTV, the only TV channel we all thought remained in the field after the rest became बिकाऊ.

I am now more than convinced that we have lost the battle against our enemy from within, who have rapidly gained ground through the pandemic threatening the entire humanity,

Do we give up ? Certainly not. A battle is lost, not the war. Let's recoup, restrategise and regroup to resume our battle against these, unscrupulous pack of hyenas, who threaten the very idea of भारत that we have dreamt of and lived for nearly 3 millennia.

This is my call to you sisters, brothers and friends of भारत, come, let's join forces against these inimical forces determined to convert our Country into one ruling class, with the rest either having to fight 0n their behalf as cannon fodder, or live as slaves.

अखिल भारतीय पूर्व सैनिक सेवा परिषद का अंग सैन्य मातृशक्ति जमशेदपु महोत्सव का आयोजन K-79 रेस्टोरेंट स्थित साक् हावड़ा ब्रिज सभागार में किया गया। जिसमें महिलाओं ने बड़ी संख्या में अपनी भागीदारी सुनिश्चित की ।सावन महोत्सव के बहाने पूर्व सैनिकों की पत्नियां सैन्य मातृशक्ति के बैनर तले मिली.कार्यक्रम का शुभारंभ मुख्य अतिथियों एवं उपस्थित सैन्य मातृशक्ति द्वारा भारतमाता के चित्र पर पुष्पांजलि अर्पित एवं दीप प्रज्वलित कर किया गया. इसके बाद संगठन से जुड़ी नई महिला सदस्य का स्वागत एवम् अभिनंदन किया गया। संगठन की अध्यक्ष रूबी सिंह ने कार्यक्रम का संचालन करते हुए कार्यक्रम के उद्देश्यो से अवगत कराया।विषय प्रवेश देते हुए श्रीमती विनीता ने कहा कि आधुनिकता और सैनिक मूल्यों का सामंजस्य हो वर्तमान समाज के बदलाव की आधारशिला बन सकता है. इसलिए हम सबका यह दायित्व है कि नागरिक परिवेश में अपने बच्चों के साथ अन्य परिवारों में भी सैनिक मूल्यों का बीजारोपण का प्रयास करे।समारोह मे महिलाओं ने विभिन्न रंगारंग सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम की प्रस्तुति करके सभी को मंत्रमुग्ध कर दिया।तमाम महिलाओं नें हरे रंग के परिधानों में सज धजकर कर कार्यक्रम में हिस्सा लिया! सभी ने हाथों में मेहंदी लगवाई और सावन के मनभावन गीतों पर झूम कर सावन का स्वागत किया। सर्वप्रथम नृत्य प्रतियोगिता उसके पश्चात मेहंदी प्रतियोगिता एवं अंत में सावन क्वीन का चयन  मुख्य अतिथियों द्वारा मिलकर किया गया। आयोजित कार्यक्रम में मुख्य अतिथि एवं निर्णायक के रूप में सामाजिक की श्रीमती  पूर्वी घोष एवम साहित्य मंच श्रीमती वीणा पांडे ने निर्णायक की भूमिका निभाई।

इस दौरान आकर्षक साड़ियों में महिलाएं सजीं थी एवं महिलाओं ने नृत्य और रैंप वॉक कर अपनी प्रतिभा का परिचय दिया।समारोह मे महिलाओं ने विभिन्न प्रतियोगिता में प्रतिभाग किया जिसमें रूप सज्जा,नृत्य, मेहंदी प्रतियोगिता सहित संगीत का आयोजन किया गया| संगठन की श्रीमती अनुपम सिंह ने कहा कि सावन महीना काफी पावन होता है और हमें प्रकृति के करीब ले जाता है। भारतवर्ष उत्सवों का देश है और यहां सभी पर्वों को पूरी श्रद्घा और उर्जा के साथ मनाया जाता है।इस प्रकार के आयोजन जनमानस में उर्जा का संचार करते हैं।आयोजित कार्यक्रम का उद्येश्य सभी पुरानी एवं नई बहनों का मिलन सह परिचय एवं  सैन्य संस्कारों से नागरिक परिवेश के लोगों को अवगत कराने का एक छोटा सा प्रयास् एवं भारत की संस्कृति और तीज त्योहारों को घर-घर तक उसके महत्व को बताना और लोगों को जागरूक करना है। धन्यवाद ज्ञापन रीना सिंह द्वारा किया गया. कार्यक्रम में अर्चना शर्मा अनुपम सिंह स्वेता,पूनम,शर्मिला,

विकलांगता पेंशन एक अधिकार है

दिल्ली उच्च न्यायालय सैनिकों के साथ खड़ा है: विकलांगता पेंशन एक अधिकार है, कोई उपकार नहीं. “आरएमबी को अपने निर्णयों के लिए मजबूत और स्पष्ट कारण बताने होंगे।”

संक्षेप में, चिकित्सा बोर्डों को सैनिकों के कठिन जीवन को ध्यान में रखते हुए, सावधानीपूर्वक और सम्मानपूर्वक अपना काम करना चाहिए।

न्यायालय द्वारा कानूनी नियमों की पुनः पुष्टि

सेना में भर्ती होने के समय स्वस्थ होना : यदि कोई सैनिक सेना में भर्ती होने के समय स्वस्थ था, और बाद में सेवा के दौरान बीमार पड़ जाता है, तो बीमारी को सेवा से संबंधित माना जाता है, जब तक कि इसके विपरीत कोई ठोस सबूत न हो।

सैनिक को संदेह का लाभ दें : यदि यह स्पष्ट नहीं है कि बीमारी सेवा से संबंधित है या नहीं, तो सैनिक को संदेह का लाभ दिया जाना चाहिए।

उदारता से सोचें, सख्ती से नहीं : पेंशन के बारे में निर्णय लेते समय, अधिकारियों को दयालु और समझदारी भरा दृष्टिकोण अपनाना चाहिए, संकीर्ण या तकनीकी नहीं।

सेवा का तनाव वास्तविक है : सैनिकों के लिए शांतिपूर्ण पोस्टिंग भी तनावपूर्ण होती है। इससे दीर्घकालिक स्वास्थ्य संबंधी समस्याएं हो सकती हैं, जिन्हें पेंशन लाभ तय करते समय ध्यान में रखना चाहिए।

न्यायाधिकरण के आदेश बरकरार

न्यायालय ने यह भी कहा कि सशस्त्र बल न्यायाधिकरण (एएफटी) ने इन मामलों में सैनिकों को विकलांगता पेंशन देकर सही निर्णय लिया है। उच्च न्यायालय को न्यायाधिकरण के आदेशों में हस्तक्षेप करने का कोई ठोस कारण नहीं मिला।

न्यायाधीशों ने कहा, "ट्रिब्यूनल के फैसले को पलटने का कोई कारण नहीं है।"

इसका अर्थ यह है कि अब सैनिकों के पक्ष में न्यायाधिकरण का निर्णय बरकरार रहेगा, तथा सरकार को प्रभावित सैनिकों को विकलांगता पेंशन प्रदान करनी होगी।सैनिकों के लिए इस फैसले का क्या मतलब है

यह फैसला सिर्फ़ कानून के बारे में नहीं है - यह हमारे सशस्त्र बलों के प्रति निष्पक्षता और सम्मान के बारे में है। कई सैनिक कई सालों तक मुश्किल परिस्थितियों में सेवा करने के बाद बीमार हो जाते हैं या उन्हें स्वास्थ्य संबंधी समस्याएँ हो जाती हैं। उन्हें उनकी उचित पेंशन से वंचित करना, सिर्फ़ इसलिए कि बीमारी शांतिपूर्ण तैनाती के दौरान सामने आई, अन्यायपूर्ण और अपमानजनक दोनों है।

इस फ़ैसले से यह कड़ा संदेश गया है कि हमारे सैनिकों के साथ सम्मानपूर्वक व्यवहार किया जाना चाहिए , यहाँ तक कि उनके सेवानिवृत्त होने के बाद भी। सरकार और सैन्य अधिकारियों को निष्पक्ष प्रक्रिया का पालन करना चाहिए और सैनिकों को उनके उचित हक के लिए सालों तक इधर-उधर भटकना नहीं चाहिए।निष्कर्ष

कर्नल बलबीर सिंह के मामले में दिल्ली उच्च न्यायालय का फैसला पूरे देश के सैनिकों के लिए एक महत्वपूर्ण जीत है। इसमें स्पष्ट रूप से कहा गया है कि विकलांगता पेंशन एक सैनिक का अधिकार है , उपहार नहीं। न्यायालय ने सरकार को सही ढंग से याद दिलाया है कि हमारे सैनिक बहुत कठिन परिस्थितियों में सेवा करते हैं, और सेवा छोड़ने के बाद उनके बलिदान को नहीं भूलना चाहिए।

सरकार की चुनौतियों को खारिज करके और सशस्त्र बल न्यायाधिकरण के निर्णयों का समर्थन करके, उच्च न्यायालय ने हमारे सैन्य कर्मियों की गरिमा, स्वास्थ्य और वित्तीय सुरक्षा के पक्ष में आवाज उठाई है।

रक्षा मंत्रालय की कार्रवाई का इंतजार कर रहे सेवानिवृत्त सैनिकों के लिए

अखिल भारतीय पूर्व सैनिक सेवा परिषद जमशेदपुर

वरुण कुमार वह नाम है जिन्होंने 2006 में जमशेदपुर से अखिल भारतीय पूर्व सैनिक सेवा परिषद जमशेदपुर की स्थापना की – यह संगठन हर सेवारत और सेवानिवृत्त सैनिकों को रोजगार, बच्चों की पढ़ाई, मेडिकल सहायता और सामाजिक-सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रमों में सहयोग प्रदान करता है  ।

भारतीय नौसेना में चयनित रहने के बाद उन्होंने INS विनाश में सेवा दी, और 1999 के कारगिल युद्ध के दौरान भारतीय नौसेना की कार्यवाही में शामिल रहे  ।

करीब 15 साल सेवा देने के बाद उन्होंने 2003 में नौसेना से सेवानिवृत।।

2006 से NTFF गोलमुरी में तकनीकी शिक्षा में योगदान देने लगे।2006 में पाँच सदस्यों की टीम के साथ पूर्व सैनिक सेवा परिषद की शुरुआत की, जिसका उद्देश्य सैनिकों और उनके परिवारों को समाज में सम्मानित रूप से स्थापित करना ।इसके बाद यह परिषद बोकारो, धनबाद, पलामू, रांची, घाटसीला, रामगढ़, लोहरदगा और गुमला तक विस्तारित हुई।

जो लौट के घर न आए

सिपाही राम प्रसाद यादव (वीरगति प्राप्त)

     मणिपुर देश के पूर्वोत्तर में स्थित एक पहाड़ी राज्य है। इसके उत्तर में नागालैंड और दक्षिण में मिज़ोरम, पश्चिम में असम और पूर्व में इसकी सीमा म्यांमार से मिलती है। यहाँ के पर्वतीय क्षेत्रों में नागा व कुकी जनजाति के लोग निवास करते हैं। यह राज्य पिछले कई वर्षों से जातीय संघर्ष और उग्रवादी गतिविधियों के केंद्र में  रहा है और वर्तमान में भी यह जातीय हिंसा और वर्ग संघर्ष से अशांत है। वर्ष 2015 की शुरुआत  में मणिपुर के सीमा क्षेत्र में उग्रवादी गतिविधियाँ काफी तेज  थीं। इसके लिए  मणिपुर और म्यांमार की बिना बाड़ वाली 1,463 किलोमीटर सीमा को सरकार द्वारा सील कर दिया गया  था । सेना ने अर्धसैनिक बलों के साथ मिलकर उग्रवादियों के  सफाए के लिए अभियान चला रखा था  । 

     04 जून 2015 को 06 डोगरा रेजिमेंट के कुछ जवान अपने वाहनों के  काफिले के साथ  इम्फाल जा रहे थे । जब यह जवान चंदेल जिले से गुजर रहे थे, उस दौरान उन पर उग्रवादियों ने घात लगाकर हमला कर दिया । सेना के काफिले पर आतंकवादियों द्वारा हमले की योजना नेशनल सोशलिस्ट कौंसिल ऑफ़ नागालैंड (खापलांग), कांगलेई यावोल कन्ना लुप और कांगलापक कम्युनिस्ट पार्टी के कार्यकर्ताओं के एक संयुक्त समूह के प्रशिक्षित आतंकवादियों ने बनायीं थी,  चंदेल जिले के पारलोंग गांव और चारोंग गांव के बीच के इलाके में उन्होंने बारूदी सुरंग बिछा दी थी, और रास्ते के किनारे छुप कर बैठे थे । जैसे ही सैन्य काफिला बारूदी सुरंगों के बीच पहुंचा तो उन्होंने काफिले पर भारी स्वचालित हथियारों, राकेटों और हैंड ग्रेनेड  से हमला बोल दिया । इस अचानक हुए हमले से सैनिक हतप्रभ रह गए । बारुदी  सुरंगों और स्वचालित हथियारों से दोतरफा हुए  हमले में सैनिकों की जबाबी कार्यवाही नाकाफी सिद्ध हुई । 4 वाहनों के  सैनिक काफिले का अधिकांश हिस्सा क्षतिग्रस्त हो गया और बारुदी  सुरंगों में  विस्फोट के  कारण भी कई सैनिक वीरगति को प्राप्त हो गए । 

      उग्रवादियों द्वारा किए गए इस दुस्साही हमले में 06 डोगरा रेजिमेंट के 18 जवान वीरगति को प्राप्त हो गये ,  सिपाही राम प्रसाद यादव इन्हीं  18 बहादुर सैनिकों में से एक थे। इस हमले में सिपाही राम प्रसाद यादव के अलावा उत्तर प्रदेश के जनपद गौतमबुद्ध नगर के हवलदार जगवीर सिंह,  जम्मू और कश्मीर के 07,  हिमाचल प्रदेश के 06 , कर्नाटक के  01, मध्य प्रदेश के 01 और पंजाब के 01 बहादुर जवान वीरगति को प्राप्त हुए थे । उस समय यह सेना पर उग्रवादियों द्वारा किया गया सबसे बड़ा हमला था, जिसमें एक साथ इतने सैनिक वीरगति को प्राप्त हुए थे  । 

     सिपाही राम प्रसाद यादव का जन्म 21 जनवरी 1976 को जनपद फैज़ाबाद (अयोध्या) के गांव सलारपुर में श्रीमती तिलका देवी और श्री श्रीराम यादव  के यहाँ हुआ था ।  इन्होने अपनी  स्कूली शिक्षा अपने गांव सलारपुर से पूरी की और 25 दिसम्बर 1996  को भारतीय सेना की डोगरा रेजिमेंट में भर्ती हो गए । सैन्य प्रशिक्षण पूरा करने के पश्चात यह  6 डोगरा  रेजीमेंट में तैनात हुए। सन् 2015 में इनकी यूनिट 6 डोगरा रेजिमेंट आतंकवादी विरोधी अभियानों में हिस्सा लेने के लिए मणिपुर में तैनात थी। इनके माता पिता दोनों की मृत्यु हो चुकी है इनके परिवार में इनकी पत्नी श्रीमती जानकी देवी, दो बेटियां - सविता यादव तथा अदिति यादव और तीन बेटे - रामपाल यादव , विकास यादव तथा विवेक यादव हैं । इनकी बड़ी बेटी सविता यादव की शादी हो चुकी है तथा इनके दूसरे नंबर के बेटे विवेक यादव अपने पिता के नक्शे-कदम पर चलते हुए भारतीय सेना में अपनी सेवाएं दे रहे हैं।

  सिपाही राम प्रसाद यादव की वीरता और बलिदान को याद रखने के लिए अयोध्या विकास प्राधिकरण द्वारा राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग संख्या 27 पर सहादतगंज बाईपास के पास स्थित एक पार्क का नामकरण इनके नाम पर किया गया है।

भारत दरवर्षी 21 एप्रिल रोजी राष्ट्रीय नागरी सेवा दिन साजरा करतो. स्वतंत्र भारताचे पहिले गृहमंत्री सरदार वल्लभभाई पटेल यांनी 1947 मध्ये दिल्लीच्या मेटकाफ हाऊसमध्ये प्रशासकीय सेवा अधिकाऱ्यांच्या परिवीक्षाधीनांना संबोधित केले त्या दिवसाच्या स्मरणार्थ हा दिवस साजरा केला जातो.

 

नागरी सेवा म्हणजे काय..?

 

नागरी सेवा हे राज्याच्या प्रशासकीय यंत्रणेला इंग्रजीत दिलेले सामान्य नाव आहे. हा शब्द प्रथम ब्रिटीश प्रशासनामध्ये भारतात आणि नंतर यूके (1854) मध्ये सादर करण्यात आला आणि केंद्र सरकारद्वारे नियुक्त केलेल्या नागरी (म्हणजे, गैर-लष्करी आणि गैर-न्यायिक) प्रशासकांसाठी जवळजवळ सर्वव्यापी समानार्थी बनला आहे.

HonourPoint : Flt Lt Vijay Vasant Tambay

"On December 3, 1971, when Mrs Damayanti V. Tambay’s husband, fighter pilot Flt Lt V.V. Tambay, who was posted at Ambala Cantonment went to war, he told her “I may return, I may not return. Take care of yourself”.

Mrs Tambay had told her husband “Vasant, ‘V’ for victory. Carry on. The entire nation is behind you”.

Flight Lieutenant Vijay Vasant Tambay hailed from Nagpur in Maharashtra and was born on 11 Apr 1943. After completing his schooling, his ambition and talent led him to the prestigious National Defence Academy (NDA), where he joined the 23rd NDA course. Following rigorous training, he graduated on December 1, 1962, and was commissioned as a Pilot Officer in the Indian Air Force on October 28, 1963. Flt Lt Tambay chose the demanding and dynamic flying branch, undergoing specialized training as part of the 85th Pilots’ Course to become a fighter pilot. This role required not only exceptional flying skills but also mental agility, situational awareness, and unwavering resolve. His early years in the IAF were spent serving in various flying squadrons across different air force bases, where he honed his craft and earned the respect of his peers and superiors.

 

In April 1970, Flt Lt Tambay married Ms. Damayanti Subedar, a national-level badminton player from Allahabad. Their union was a remarkable blend of excellence, with Ms Damayanti continuing her illustrious sporting career after marriage. She went on to secure her third national title and was later honored with the prestigious "Arjuna Award," highlighting her contribution to Indian sports. By 1971, Flt Lt Tambay had accumulated nearly eight years of service, establishing himself as a seasoned fighter pilot adept at executing complex air operations. He was serving with the 32 Squadron based at Air Force Station Ambala, where he flew the formidable Sukhoi SU-7 aircraft. The SU-7, a powerful aircraft designed for offensive air support, counter-air missions, and tactical reconnaissance, was known for its speed and reliability. It boasted a maximum speed of 1056 mph (1700 km/h) at an altitude of 40,000 feet and a remarkable climb rate of 29,900 feet per minute. However, its modest operational radius and limited external payload capacity posed challenges that pilots like Flt Lt Tambay skillfully navigated. His time with the 32 Squadron epitomized his dedication to safeguarding the nation’s skies, demonstrating the grit and determination of an ace fighter pilot.

 

Shorkot Airfield (Rafiqui) Attack (Indo-Pak War): 05 Dec 1971

 

In December, 1971, Flt Lt Tambay was serving with 32 Squadron which was operating SU-7 fighter aircraft. The 32 Squadron was raised at Jodhpur on 15 October 1963 with Wing Commander Emanuel Raymond Fernandes as its first commanding officer. Initially it was equipped with Mystere aircraft but the Squadron later got converted and graduated to supersonic era with SU-7 aircraft and shifted its base to Ambala. In response to the preemptive strikes by the Pakistan Air Force on Indian Air bases on 03 Dec 1971, the IAF launched operations against the Pak Air Force. As part of the IAF operations, 32 Sqn with Wing Commander Harcharan Singh Manget as its commanding officer took part in numerous missions against Pakistani targets. By 04 Dec 1971, Flt Lt Tambay had already undertaken two missions deep inside Pakistan against its air bases. On 05 Dec 1971, Flt Lt Tambay was tasked to be part of the mission that was to attack the Pakistani air base at Rafique.

 

Flt Lt Tambay took off in his SU-7 (B-839) as planned for his 3rd such sortie within two days against the Pakistani airbase. It was a two aircraft mission with Sqn Ldr VK Bhatia as No1 and Flt Lt Tambay as No 2. The TOT(Time over Target) given to the pilots was around midday as the enemy defences were expected to be at a low key at that time. Both aircrafts reached the target airfield as planned and carried out the first attack. As the target was important was for the enemy, it was defended heavily by their air defence assets. During the second attack Flt Lt Tambay in a bid to cause maximum damage to the target airfield, flew dangerously close to enemy air defense batteries and was shot down by anti-aircraft guns. Flt Lt Tambay was declared “Killed In Action”(KIA) on 05 Dec 1971.

 

However, a confusion continued to persist about his death, as some of the Prisoners Of War (POW) lodged in a Pakistani jail, later informed about the presence of Flt Lt Tambay in Pakistani Jail. The Sunday edition of 'Pakistan Observer', then published from Dhaka reported on 05 Dec 1971 that five Indian pilots had been captured and one of them was Flt Lt Tomboy a presumed distortion of Tambay. Later his wife Smt Damayanti during her search for her husband found many leads/evidences that gave credence to the fact that Flt Lt Tambay was being kept as a POW in Pakistan. Pakistan, however never acknowledged the presence of Flt Lt Tambay in a Pakistani jail. Presently, Flt Lt VV Tambay’s name features on the official list of the ’54 Personnel Missing in Action’, tabled in the Lok Sabha in 1979 by the then Minister of State of External Affairs Shri Samarendra Kundu.

 

Flt Lt VV Tambay is survived by his wife Smt Damayanti Tambay. A four-time national badminton champion, Smt Damayanti Tambay is the leading member of “Missing Defence Personnel Association”, an organization which is still spearheading the campaign to obtain the release of Indian POWs lodged in Pakistani jails.

    परतंत्रता उस बेबसी का वह नाम है जिसमें परतंत्र जीव के मन, आचार, विचार, व्यवहार, शिक्षा और संस्कृति पर कुठाराघात होता है, उसे परतंत्र बनाने वाले  के द्वारा तहस नहस करने का पूरा प्रयास किया जाता है और वह जीव खून का घूंट पीकर  रह जाता है और  खून का यह घूंट उस परतंत्र बनाने वाले  के  विनाश का कारण बनता है। खून के इस घूंट से उस जीव में से ऐसे  राष्ट्र नायकों का जन्म होता है जो स्वयं में एक विचार होते हैं और यह विचार पूरे समाज/ राष्ट्र को एक नयी दिशा देते हैं। लोग उस राष्ट्र नायक के पीछे चल पड़ते है और परतंत्र बनाने वाला अलग थलग पड़ जाता है और अंततः स्वतंत्रता उससे अलग होकर परतंत्र जीव /व्यक्ति या समाज के पास पहुँच जाती है ।  

    23 मार्च  1931, भारतीय स्वतंत्रता आंदोलन की वह तारीख है जिस तारीख को  देश से ब्रिटिश हुकूमत को उखाड़ फेंकने में अपनी अहम भूमिका निभाने वाले तीन महान क्रांतिकारियों सरदार भगत सिंह, शिवराम राजगुरु और सुखदेव को अंग्रेजों द्वारा फांसी दी गयी थी। सरदार भगत सिंह ने बटुकेश्वर दत्त के साथ मिलकर 08 अप्रैल 1929 को केन्द्रीय असेम्बली (पुराने संसद भवन) में एक ऐसे स्थान पर बम फेंका था जहां पर कोई मौजूद नहीं था। इन्होंने अंग्रेजी हुकूमत की तानाशाही के खिलाफ उसे चेतावनी देने के लिए यह कदम उठाया था। उनका उद्देश्य किसी को नुकसान पहुंचाना नहीं था, वह केवल आतातायी अंग्रेजी हुकूमत को यह बताना चाहते थे कि हम आजादी को छीनकर लेने में भी सक्षम हैं। उन्होंने भागने की कोशिश नहीं की और बाद में उन्हें गिरफ्तार कर लिया गया।  

     08 अप्रैल 1929 को गिरफ्तार होने से पूर्व उन्होंने स्वतंत्रता संग्राम के आंदोलन की अनेकों रैलियां और जन सभाओं में भाग लिया था। सन् 1920 में जब महात्मा गांधी जी ने असहयोग आंदोलन शुरू किया था उस समय सरदार भगत सिंह मात्र 13 वर्ष के थे और जब 1929 में उन्हें गिरफ्तार किया गया तब उनकी आयु महज 22 वर्ष थी। 13 अप्रैल 1919 को  जलियांवाला बाग नरसंहार ने सरदार भगत सिंह के मस्तिष्क पर गहरा असर डाला था और उसके बाद से ही वे देश की आजादी के सपने देखने लगे थे।

     जब भगत सिंह को फांसी पर चढ़ाया गया उस समय भगत सिंह महज 23 साल के थे। लेकिन उनके क्रांतिकारी विचार बहुत व्यापक और उच्च कोटि के थे।  उनके विचारों ने लाखों भारतीय युवाओं को आजादी की लड़ाई के लिए प्रेरित किया। आज भी उनके विचार युवाओं का मार्गदर्शन करते हैं। इंकलाब का नारा बुलंद करने वाले भगत सिंह अपने आखिरी समय में भले ही अंग्रेजी हुकूमत की बेड़ियों में जकड़े थे लेकिन उनके विचार आजाद थे। वे कहते थे कि "बेहतर जिंदगी सिर्फ अपने तरीकों से जी जा सकती हैं। यह जिंदगी आपकी है और आपको तय करना है कि आपको जीवन में क्या करना है"। सरदार भगत सिंह कहा करते थे, मैं एक ऐसा पागल हूं, जो जेल में भी आजाद है । 

     भगत सिंह जीवन के लक्ष्य को महत्व देते थे। उनका मानना था कि हमें अपने जीवन का लक्ष्य पता होना चाहिए। अगर हमें अपने लक्ष्य का पता होगा और हम अपने लक्ष्य को उद्देश्य बनाकर कार्य करेंगे तो हमें सफल होने से कोई ताकत नहीं रोक सकती है। वतन के लिए त्याग और बलिदान उनके लिए सर्वोपरि रहा। वे कहते थे कि एक सच्चा बलिदानी वही है जो जरुरत पड़ने पर सब कुछ त्याग दे। भगत सिंह स्वयं अपनी निजी जिंदगी से प्रेम करते थे, उनकी भी महत्वाकांक्षाएं थी, उनके अपने सपने थे। लेकिन वतन पर उन्होंने अपना सब कुछ कुर्बान कर दिया। सरदार भगत सिंह, राजगुरु और सुखदेव के जीवन से  यह सीख मिलती है कि अगर देश की आन, बान और शान के खिलाफ कोई ताकत खड़ी होती है तो हमें बल के साथ- साथ वैचारिक रूप से भी उसे कुचलने की आवश्यकता है, क्योंकि विचार कभी मरते नहीं है। 

     सरदार भगतसिंह का जन्म 28 सितंबर 1907 को गांव बंगा जिला लायलपुर (अब पाकिस्तान) में हुआ था।   उनके पिता का नाम सरदार किशन सिंह और माता का नाम विद्यावती कौर था। अमृतसर में 13 अप्रैल 1919 को हुए जलियाँवाला बाग हत्याकाण्ड ने सरदार भगत सिंह की सोच पर गहरा प्रभाव डाला था। लाहौर के नेशनल कॉलेज़ की पढ़ाई छोड़कर सरदार भगत सिंह ने भारत की आज़ादी के लिये नौजवान भारत सभा की स्थापना की । सन् 1922 में गोरखपुर के चौरी-चौरा हत्‍याकांड के बाद गांधीजी ने जब किसानों का साथ नहीं दिया तब भगत सिंह बहुत निराश हुए। उसके बाद उनका अहिंसा से विश्वास उठ गया । वह इस निष्कर्ष पर पहुंचे कि सशस्त्र क्रांति ही स्वतंत्रता दिलाने का एक मात्र रास्ता है। उसके बाद वह चन्द्रशेखर आजाद के नेतृत्‍व में  गदर दल का हिस्‍सा बन गए। काकोरी काण्ड में राम प्रसाद 'बिस्मिल' सहित 4 क्रान्तिकारियों को फाँसी तथा 16 अन्य लोगों के कारावास की सजाओं से भगत सिंह इतने अधिक उद्वेलित हुए कि  चन्द्रशेखर आजाद के साथ उनकी पार्टी हिन्दुस्तान रिपब्लिकन एसोसिएशन से जुड़ गए और उसे एक नया नाम दिया "हिन्दुस्तान सोशलिस्ट रिपब्लिकन एसोसिएशन"। इस संगठन का उद्देश्य सेवा, त्याग और देश के लिए अपने प्राणों की आहुति देने वाले नवयुवक तैयार करना था।

     सरदार भगतसिंह का विश्वास था कि उनकी शहादत से भारतीय जनता और उद्विग्न हो जायेगी और ऐसा उनके जिन्दा रहने से शायद ही हो पायेगा, इसी कारण उन्होंने मौत की सजा सुनाये जाने के बाद भी माफीनामा लिखने से साफ मना कर दिया था। 23 मार्च 1931 को शाम में करीब 07 बजकर 33 मिनट पर भगत सिंह तथा इनके दो साथियों सुखदेव व राजगुरु को लाहौर जेल में फाँसी दे दी गई जबकि फांसी की तारीख एक दिन बाद की थी यानी कि 24 मार्च। फाँसी पर जाने से पहले वे लेनिन की जीवनी पढ़ रहे थे। जब उनसे उनकी आखिरी इच्छा पूछी गई तो उन्होंने कहा कि वह लेनिन की जीवनी पढ़ रहे हैं  उन्हें वह पूरी करने का समय दिया जाए।  जेल के अधिकारियों ने जब उन्हें यह सूचना दी कि उनकी फाँसी का समय हो गया है तो उन्होंने कहा "ठहरिये! पहले एक क्रान्तिकारी दूसरे क्रान्तिकारी से मिल तो ले।" फिर एक मिनट बाद किताब छत की ओर उछाल कर बोले  "ठीक है अब चलो।"फाँसी पर जाते समय भी सरदार भगत सिंह, शिवराम राजगुरु और सुखदेव मस्तमौला और निश्चिंत रहे। मौत को नजदीक देखकर भी उनको जोश उबाल मार रहा था। जोश भरे शब्दों में  क्रांतिकारी गीत गाते हुए सत्य का वरण करने के लिए आगे बढ़ते जा रहे थे।          -

छत्रपती शिवाजी महाराजांबाबत प्रमुख्याने फक्त या तीनच गोष्टी सांगितल्या जातात....!

1.अफजलखानाचा कोथळा 

2.शाहीस्तेखानाची बोटे आणि

3.आग्र्याहुन हून सुटका

 

पण मला भावलेले छत्रपती शिवाजी महाराज अनेक अंगाने समजून घ्यावेसे वाटतील....!

 

1. आपल्या आईला जिजाऊ मॉसाहेबांना सती जाण्यापासून रोखणारे छत्रपती शिवाजी महाराज "सामाजिक क्रांती" करणारे होते...!

 

2. रयतेच्या भाजीच्या देठालासुद्धा हात लावता कामा नये हा आदेश देणारे "लोकपालक" राजे होते...!

 

3. सर्व प्रथम हातात तलवारीबरोबरच पट्टी घेऊन जमीन मोजून तिची नोंद त्यांनी ठेवायला चालू केली असे "उत्तम प्रशासक" होते...!

 

4. विनाकारण व विना मोबदला झाडं तोडल्यास नवीन झाड लावून जगवण्याची शिक्षा देणारे "पर्यावरण रक्षक" होते...!

 

5. समुद्र प्रवास करण्यास हिंदू धर्मात बंदी होती तो विरोध पत्करून आरमार उभे केले व आधुनिक नौदलाचा पाया रचून धर्मा पेक्षा देश मोठा हा संदेश देणारे "स्व-धर्मचिकित्सक" होते ...!

 

6. मुहूर्त न पाहता, अशुभ मानल्या गेलेल्या अमावस्येच्या रात्री सर्व लढाया करुन त्या सर्वच्या सर्व लढाया जिंकून  "अंधश्रध्दा निर्मुलनाचा संदेश देणारे  चिकीत्सक राजे"

 

7. ३५० वर्षांपूर्वी छत्रपती शिवरायांनी सुरु केलेली शिवकालीन पाणी साठवण व्यवस्था आजही तितकीच प्रभावी आहे ! "जलतज्ञ" राजे छत्रपती शिवराय!!

 

8. ३५० वर्षांपूर्वी दळणवळणाचे कोणतेही साधन नसताना अभेद्य असे  १०० राहून अधिक गडकिल्ल्यांचे निर्माते, "उत्तम अभियंते राजे"

 

9. सर्व जातीधर्मातल्या मावळ्यांना समान न्याय देत सामाजिक क्रांतीचा पाया रचणारे राजे!!

 

10. परस्त्री मातेसमान मानत महिलांना  सन्मानाने वागवाणारे "मातृभक्त, नारीरक्षक" छत्रपती शिवराय

 

11. संपुर्ण विश्वात फक्त छत्रपती शिवरायांच्या दरबारातच मनोरंजनासाठी कोणतीही स्री नर्तीका नाचवली गेली नाही की मद्याचे प्याले ही रिचवले गेले नाहीत 

 

खऱ्या अर्थाने ते "लोकराजे" होते कारण ते धर्म जातीच्या पलीकडे जाऊन सुखी जनतेचे स्वप्न पहात होते हीच खरी शिवशाही होती.....!
