At least seven terrorists were killed in multiple attempts by Pakistan Army to infiltrate armed groups into Kashmir were foiled by Indian Army along the LoC on Thursday. Also, one jawan was martyred in the gun battle against the militants.
The infiltration bids were foiled and operation is underway, said Indian Army, reports ANI.
On Wednesday, three heavily-armed militants were killed in a gunbattle in the Kupwara district as Army foiled a major infiltration bid along the LoC.
According to reports, this is the second successful anti-infiltration operation carried out by the security forces along the LoC in the last 24 hours, and the fourth in less than a fortnight.
The infiltration bid comes after Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh last week said infiltration from Pakistan is down by 45 percent in six months after surgical strikes.
On Tuesday a CRPF camp came under attack in Jammu and Kashmir in which militants intended to cause extensive damage. In retaliatory firing four militants were killed while attacking CRPF camp in Bandipora district. The CRPF personnel seized four automatic rifles and scores of ammunition carried by the terrorists.
On May 26, the Army killed two Pakistani Border Action Team members who tried to infiltrate into Uri sector in Baramulla district to carry out an attack on the soldiers.
It may be recalled that in a cross-border terror attack on an army base at Uri 18 Indian soldiers were martyred. Four terrorists attacked the camp close to the headquarter of the 12th Brigade at Uri in Baramulla District.
