POLITICS IN ESM AGITATION

Politicians have been visiting  JM since the beginning of the agitation. They were not allowed any special treatment, were permitted to sit with the audience and were not allowed to share stage or mike. Recent political events at JM have reversed the trend.

It started with Maj Gen Satbir  taking Mr. Jethamalani to Patna with him. For what? He just bashed Modi and BJP. Laloos won hands down by social engeneering. They never uttered a single word on OROP or ESM. Are their 9th fail ministers going to get us OROP?

Kejariwal's visit to JM was well publicised by IESM(JM) in advance. All were asked to attend in big numbers. Are we offering JM to political parties for rallies?  Are we planning for Punjab elections at JM or looking after ESM interests?

Again Jethamalani was called for a press conference at JM supposedly to talk on a case he was filing to get us OROP. He just said that he was not filing the case and went all out to bash Modi and BJP. I am no legal expert, but have been saying that we have no legal case at all. Courts do not go by slogans and false propaganda on social media. They need facts. Even after Mr. Jethamalani’s refusal to file a case, leaders went and threatened RM with a legal case. Aren’t we behaving like road side urchins who threaten school going children with dire consequences if they do not hand over pocket money? If we have a water tight case, behave like a soldier, go for a kill. Otherwise look for alternates. What are we waiting for?

Recently an Aakrosh rally was organised and blatant political fatwas were issued not to vote for BJP. Are we looking forward to funding from AAP and Congress? Do we have political ambitions? Suppose Mr. Jethamalani becomes Assam Chief Minister and Maj Gen Satbir Punjab CM, will they get us OROP?

We may or may not have any political affiliations, but with so many grey hair on our head do we need any one to tell us what to do with our vote? If we have people playing politics in the garb of OROP, it will end any efforts to unite ESM.

If we have to have any unity, we must ensure that there is not even an iota of politics involved. There are other platforms where we can encash our political potential. Most of us have our political views. If we mix politics with ESM agitation, we will start a political war among ourselves.

My advise TO ALL ESM is to concentrate on our aim and keep politics out of it. There are two ways to achieve an aim, a peaceful apolitical agitation and a dialogue with authorities. Let us not deviate from these approaches. We should stop hitting at each other and calling names if someone does not agree with our approach.

BJP bashing will never get us OROP. Has Patna helped us reach our goal in anyway?

Best regards,
