Grave Injustice with the Soldier. He is worse than a Nurse.

It was hoped that equal MSP would be given to all and justice would be done to the Jawan, the guardian of the nation.
Learned members of the 7th Pay Commission have  awarded Rs 10800 as Military Service Pay (MSP) to nurses working in the armed forces.
A soldier who faces bullets and loses life and limb has been awarded a paltry sum of Rs 5200 as the MSP.
What a great logic and justice done by the 7th pay Commission headed by Mr. Justice!
Who faces a harder and harsher military life; a nurse who works in a hospital or a Jawan who fights war on the front and is involved in the military operations even during peace time?
Who faces the enemy and the terrorists every day? A nurse or a poor Jawan!

Did the Pay Commission do a Job Evaluation and find out that the job of a nurse is more hazardous and demanding than the bullet facing soldier?
Since pension is half of the pay. A retired nurse will get Rs 2800 additional pension enhancement as compared to a Jawan. The basic pay of nurse is as such almost 3 times that of a Jawan.

The MSP of Jawan should be more than that of the Nurse.
Who will do justice to the poor Jawan; Modi, Parrikar, Jaitlee or the 3 service chiefs?

  1. Will the commissioned officers stand by the Jawans? It will be an acid test of their credibility. Hope they do not forget the Chetwode oath.
