Platinum Grant - Col Ranbir Lamba

RESPECTED SIR,
1. PLATINUM GRANT WAS STARTED ABOUT 3 DECADES BACK & HANDSOME AMOUNT OF RS 50,000/ WAS KEPT AS PLATINUM GRANT AT THAT TIME.
2. NOW OVER THE YEARS DUE TO INFLATION & NOW PURCHASING POWER OF RUPEE IT IS A PEANUT AMOUNT.
3; THERE IS NEED TO ENHANCE THIS MONEY   TO RS 5,00,000/ TO OFF SET LOSS OF PURCHASING POWER OF RUPEE
4. KINDLY SEE PURCHASE VALUE  OF RE 1/ FROM TABLES & FIX THE AMOUNT AS ON DATE ,
5, IT WILL BE WORTH AN EFFORT TO SET FUTURE ENHANCED VALUE ON EACH YEAR BASIS,SO THAT LOSS DUE TO INFLATION IS OFFSET & NO NEW SANCTION WILL BE REQUIRED.
6.THE STATUS AS ON DATE IS AS FOLLOWS
Grant From Army Officers’ Benevolent Fund :
** All retired Army officers are eligible to receive the Platinum Grant on attaining the age of 75 years or demise grant to NOKs/Nominee whichever is earlier.
** The entitlement of the grant will be calculated based on the number of subscribed service on a sliding scale as under :-

Commissioned Service as an Officer Amount in Rupees :
(a) Below 5 years – Nil
(b) 5 to 10 years – 12,500/-
(c) 10 to 15 years – 25,000/-
(d) 15 to 20 years – 38,000/-
(e) 20 years and more/Die in harness – 50,000/-
