Indian Air Force organizes musical evening at Futala Lake in Nagpur

 Indradhanush, a musical evening organised by the HQ Maintenance Command of Indian Air Force, enthralled the music lovers at Futala Lake recently.
Trained musicians of No.5 Air Force Band presented a medley of Hindi and English songs. Men in uniform captivated everybody by rendering peppy numbers like 'Zoobi doobi,' 'Gore gore' and 'Mera naam chun chun chun.' Elegant Air Force ladies — Madhumita Patra, Priyanka Sabeesh, Renu Joshi, Nishat Yunus and Mahua Jayakumar — were part of the choir. The atmosphere became patriotic when officers sang 'Kandhon se milte hai kandhen' and 'Vande Mataram'and the audience sang along. The solo flute recital on 'Roja janeman' and saxophone performance on 'Tum hi ho' deserve a special mention as they captivated everyone with their right intonation and technical proficiency. The event was a part of the grand finale of the 83rd anniversary celebrations of IAF, and was organised to convey a social message too. "The objective was to instill a sense of responsibility and attach an emotional ownership towards the maintenance of Futala Lake," elaborated public relation officer, defence, Nagpur, wg cdr Samir Gangakhedkar. Later, air marshal Jagjeet Singh VSM ADC, air officer commanding-in-chief, maintenance command greeted the participants. Air marshal PP Khandekar senior maintenance staff officer, with wife Manisha, air vice marshal Praveen Bhatt, air commodore JB Inamdar with wife Madhuri group captain Muzaffar Yunus with wife Lubna Ahmed, were also present.
